About FEEN
FEEN (Field Expression Encoding Notation) is a minimalistic, rule-agnostic textual format
for capturing static board positions in a canonical, compact, and game-neutral way.
FEEN strings consist of three space-separated fields:
<PIECE-PLACEMENT> (board configuration),
<HANDS> (pieces in each player's hand), and
<STYLE-TURN> (styles and active player).
Piece identifiers follow PIN-style conventions, with optional state modifiers (+, -)
and optional terminal markers (^).
